The total nominal power rating of the bike model measured in watts (W). The nominal power rating is the power that can be provided continuously without the motor overheating.

The maximum nominal power rating that can be ridden on streets and trails in many jurisdictions in the United States is 750 watts. Please consult with your state, county, city and trail authorities for the applicable restrictions in your area.

Usually an e-bike has only one motor and this value will be the same as Motor 1 Nominal Power. If there is a second motor, this value will be the sum of Motor 1 Nominal Power andMotor 2 Nominal Power.

Some bikes with a nominal power rating over 750 watts provide the capability to limit the usable wattage to 750 watts to comply with local regulations.

Nearly all e-bikes have a single motor. Only 1% of e-bikes listed on our site have two motors.
